Follow the Priscuses family through their daily life in ancient Rome. They’re a wealthy family living in Rome in 80 CE, a pretty good time to be a Roman… Gaius and Caecilia Priscuses have a son and a daughter: Julius (15 years old) and Octavia (11 years old), they own six slaves who look after the household.
The book starts at the crack of dawn as we are given an insight into the process of waking up in a Roman household. We follow them through all sorts of daily activities and discover much of ancient Rome’s goings-on through their eyes.
